Tacoma, WA – Join us for our 3rd Annual JobFest, the largest youth job fair in Washington State!  JobFest is for job seekers between the ages of 16 and 24 and will be hosted at the STAR Center in Tacoma on April 13th. Participation is free for job seekers and employers so register today.

JobFest is designed to help our community by stimulating and promoting the local economy and the young adult employment climate.  JobFest gives young adults direct access to local employers that are seeking talented candidates in many disciplines, including healthcare, retail, customer service, manufacturing, and much more.  There will be jobs available that can offer many different schedules including full-time, part-time, and even temporary positions so there are opportunities to meet every need.

“JobFest is critical to stimulate job growth for our young adult population.  This gives our young adults and opportunity to meet directly employers without any distractions or digital barriers. So far we have 26 employers and a total of 36 exhibitors registered to attend the event.  We are still accepting new registrations so we are expecting 85 exhibitors including 60 employers to attend the event” stated Julie Sandstede, a JobFest Co-Chair, and Business Services Recruiter at WorkForce Central.

We will also be hosting several VIP workshops before the event to help job seekers prepare with resume writing skills, interview preparation, and job seeking skills.  There will also be a networking event that will be held just before JobFest for VIP job seekers.  This will give our VIPs an opportunity to meet with employers one on one before the event begins.  If you’re interested in becoming a VIP, register today at www.JobFest2016vipprepworkshops.eventbrite.com.  Workshops will be held in Tacoma, Puyallup, Gig Harbor and Lakewood.

JobFest will be held on Tuesday, April 13 from 2 to 5pm at the STAR Center, 3873 South 66th Street in Tacoma.  Register today by visiting www.JobFest2016youngadultjobseeker.eventbrite.com.

JobFest is supported by many local businesses and organizations including WorkForce Central, STAR Center, State Farm, REACH, JobCorps, Pierce County Library System, Washington State DSHS/DVR and Vadis.
